DIY Clothing : Revive Old Sweater With Touch Of Leather

I had drab looking high neck sweater of superb quality which served me well during freezing nights of snow , so I had no heart of getting rid of it :).
Once again DIY idea helped me in rescuing my old comfy sweater and the latest idea of mine consists of touch of leather. You guys can call me crazy when it comes to leather and by leather I always mean faux , I never entertain an idea of killing a living creature just for the sake of personal craze.
So, if you guys have old sweetheart sweater , which is outdated , you can use today's idea to give it a brand new look.Let's get started with today's DIY project - Revive Old Sweater With Touch Of Leather.

For this step always wear sweater (as the sweater fabric is stretchy) and then take measurements of length and width of leather piece we want for sleeves. And then cut the desired leather piece and stick it using fabric glue.

This step is optional , I was fed up of high neck look of this sweater , so just took off the high neck part.

  1. Hi...i like the idea but then will washing this sweater not be an issue later? I mean since we are using glue to stick the leather?

Hi Tams , glad you like the idea , the glue I used in this project was fabric glue , this glue will not loose it's strenght while washing.
And as far as leather and sweater care goes , you need to take care them as like any other winter clothes , like gently washing it with hands , not putting in washing machine , use lukewarm water rather than hot water and use detergents like Ezee specially for woolen fabric, not just regular detergent.
Do let me know if you have further queries or concerns.

    Thanks
    Tanya
